Industry information Analysis of the characteristics of wire to board connectors by manufacturers

383 2025-08-09

The structure of a wire to board connector is simple: place the electrodes (contacts) in the outer shell (rubber shell). There are two types of contacts: rod shaped or sheet shaped "plugs" and "sockets". Completely push the plug into the socket and cover it to achieve pairing. Generally speaking, sockets are connected to wires and plugs are connected to substrates, but this can be adjusted depending on usage. The connection between wires and contacts is generally achieved using "pressure bonding" technology, such as crimping terminals. Pressure welding can also be used to connect wires and contacts. Pressure welding technology is used for low current connections by simply connecting insulated wires to contacts, allowing for full connection. Although this method is convenient, its durability may be reduced as a result. The above two technologies can avoid overheating caused by soldering technology and protect the connection from damage. In addition, the airtight connection area can maintain stable connection as it will not be exposed to air.
